Together we can finish what we started
Our church building project is so close to completion. With your generous support, we can finish what we started — creating a lasting home for worship, community, and mission for generations to come.
Your generosity, prayers, encouragement, and sacrificial giving have already carried this building project a long way, and we are deeply thankful for all that has been contributed so far. Time and again, our church family has responded with faith, commitment, and a shared vision for what God is doing among us. It has been a joy to see so many people stand together in support of this project, and we are truly grateful for the part each person has played in bringing us to this stage of the journey.
Together, we have achieved so much already, and with your continued support we can see this vision become a reality.
Why this matters
This project has always been about more than a building. It is about creating a renewed space where people can worship, belong and be welcomed — and where our church can continue to serve the wider community for years to come.
What is needed now
As we move towards completing the work, we now need to raise a further £75,000. Some grants we applied for have not come to fruition, and VAT costs are higher than expected because less of the project qualifies as zero-rated. This means the VAT bill is likely to be around double what we had planned for.
How you can help
We know that many of you have already given generously and faithfully and we are deeply thankful for all that has already been offered. We do not make this further appeal lightly. We recognise that these are challenging times for many, and that every household will need to consider carefully what is possible. However, we also believe that this project is within reach if we respond together, each playing our part as we are able. With renewed prayer, generosity and shared commitment, we can finish what we started and see this building become a lasting blessing for our church family and wider community. There are three specific ways you can help now:

Progress so far
Kitchen
The kitchen is beginning to take shape. The walls have been plastered, wall coverings added, and skylights installed. Next steps include painting the ceiling, laying the flooring, and fitting the kitchen units.
Main lobby and facilities
The main lobby is also progressing. The new WCs are taking shape, the lift shaft is in place, and the office walls have been built, with some plaster boarding completed. The electrical/mechanical installation and demolition works, are now around 95% complete, which is an important step towards making the building safe, functional, and ready for the next stages of work. The ceiling lanterns are already helping to make the space feel much lighter and airier, giving a real sense of the brighter, more welcoming entrance area that is being created.
Roof
The roof has now been insulated and finished with a rubberoid covering, making the building more weatherproof and helping to improve warmth, comfort, and energy efficiency.
Next steps
Window orders and earlier wet weather have caused significant delays, but the kitchen is now being completed alongside the main works. We hope the main works (which includes the main lobby and the hall), kitchen, and heating will be finished by mid-September, with final touches such as flooring, soft furnishings, and some decorating in the Hulbert Room and Evans Room to follow.
