Covid-19 Update on Services
The church is currently open as follows:
Private Prayer only
- Monday to Saturday, daylight hours only.
Please see our Visit Us
page to see safety precautions to be undertaken when visiting the building.
Our Sunday services have moved (hopefully temporarily) to be live-streamed on Zoom and we are also continuing with morning prayer on Monday and Friday and a 9am Sunday service on our YouTube channel which can be accessed via our Church On-line
Usually, we have three worship services each Sunday and one midweek on a Thursday. The Sunday services are each different and designed to enable everyone to find something that suits their needs.
9:00am, Traditional Service
The 9am is a more traditional Church of England service. We sing hymns accompanied by a choir and organ and follow a set pattern each week. We share communion 3 times per month on the 1st, 3rd and 4th of each month and enjoy morning worship on the 2nd Sunday. The 4th Sunday of the month usually uses the Book of Common Prayer with its rich Elizabethan language known to many older people. This service lasts an hour.
10:30am, All Age Worship
The 10.30 is our main service and has activities specifically aimed for children available at each service normally in children and youth groups in the hall or sometimes in the main service when we worship all together. We share communion once a month on the 2nd Sunday of the month. The singing is led by a band and we sing a mixture of hymns and more contemporary songs. This service is more informal than the 9am and has many children, families and people of all ages and at all stages of life. This service is usually finished around 11.45.
6:30pm, Cafe Worship
The 6.30 evening service is informal and contemporary in style. We share coffee and cake together from 6pm. The service starts at 6.30pm with sung worship followed by a sermon and prayers. We sit in smaller groups around coffee tables and the teaching can be interactive, although it is not compulsory to join in. On the first Sunday of each month we share communion together. We usually finish up after some further cake and conversation around 8pm.
4:00-6:00pm, Half termly, Messy Church
Messy Church is a family friendly celebration full of fun and creativity. There are games, crafts, activities, prizes, a celebration and a family meal together. Everyone is welcome. Click here for more information and specific dates.
Our midweek service is held every Thursday and is always Communion, usually Book of Common Prayer. This is a small and intimate servicewith no music. Every other Thursday our GAMMA group then meets from 10.30am for refreshments and Bible Study and every week we have Thursday lunch in the hall which begins at 12.15pm.
