Bristol NW Foodbank Top Tips

Here are some Top tips from the foodbank on how we can all help particularly at this challenging time:-

1. Pray for the foodbank team please - for energy, safety, health, and joy as we serve the Lord together!

2. Donations of food - can still be made at many of the local supermarkets as normal.  Alternatively there’s a 24hr drop off point in the front porch of Christ Church Clifton.  Food can also be dropped off at the Social Justice Hub at St Andrew’s Church, Avonmouth (Monday to Friday anytime between 8:30am - 1pm).

3. Donate money online - Because of safety concerns and the need to socially isolate many people are unable to get out buy food to donate.  As an alternative it is possible to donate money online.  This helps the Foodbank enormously as it means we can bulk buy certain food stocks that we are short of, and it contributes towards our increased operating costs during this season.  If you would like to make a donation please visit: https://www.totalgiving.co.uk/mypage/bristolnwfoodbank

4.  Referrals & advice - If you are aware of people in immediate need of support with food supplies then please phone or email the foodbank office (0117 9235 343 or office@bristolnwfoodbank.org.uk) and the team will advice as to how arrange the home delivery of a food parcel.  If you are a church leader then we can set you up with the digital referral forms, so you can make a referral.  If you are aware of people who are struggling with accessing support for benefit claims or in need of advice then please direct them to our Advice worker on 07856 021365

5. Volunteers - We have had an overwhelming response from local communities in terms of volunteer support.  We are blessed to now have core teams for each day of operation, in terms of sorting, collecting from supermarkets, packing and making home deliveries.  We are limiting team numbers carefully to manage social distancing, so we are not looking to recruit extra volunteers at this time.  However, we are keeping an emergency list of people we can call on, if demand increases significantly.  If you or one of your church members would like to be added to this backup list, please do email the St Andrew's church office (office@standrews-stpeters.org).
