Our New Vicar - Rev Jema Ball
We are excited to announce the appointment of Rev Jema Ball as our new Vicar. Below is a message from her to you all.
I am delighted to have been appointed as your new Vicar! Jonno and I were part of the St Mary’s congregation from 2009-12 whilst I was training at Trinity College. At that time we had a baby daughter, Keziah, who is now not so small, having just turned nine. We also have a son, Malachi, who is six.
We returned to Leicestershire for our curacy and have spent the last four years in Peterborough diocese where I have been Associate Vicar in Oundle, a small market town. The style and size of the main church in our current benefice are very similar to St Mary’s so we feel we have lots of experience to bring to you of ministering in this kind of context.
We are really excited about returning to Bristol and have very fond memories of our years spent with you previously. We’re ready to roll up our sleeves and get stuck in, especially making the most of the opportunities for working across a wider part of the city through the Avonside Mission Partnership.
Jonno and I both grew up in Christian homes and we are passionate about weaving our faith into every aspect of our lives. We’re not coming to you with all the answers, but with a genuine desire to get to know you, to minister alongside you and to grow together as disciples.
We would value your prayers:
As we share the news with friends in Oundle
For school places locally for Keziah and Malachi
That we ‘end well’ over the next few months
